Description | During his tenure as University President, Paul Olscamp witnessed the physical evolution of the campus in a number of ways. In addition to the expansion of departments on campus, he also oversaw the construction of several buildings that were crucial to the modernization of the university. The construction of the Visitor Information Center at the front of a new University entrance was an example of this vision. While there had always been a university information center, President Olscamp lobbied for a new facility that was granted by the Board of Trustees in 1988. Since then, the Visitor Information Center has been a focal point of visits to campus. In addition to the wealth of information the center offers, the building is also the site of a shuttle bus stop that visitors can take to any part of campus.
