Nov. 7, 1936 Cleveland O. PS. You had better not write to the hospital, I don’t know when I’ll go home, Ethel Dearest Hubby: Received your welcome letter this morning. Am feeling lots better and the doctor has let me have the back-rest up now and will be putting me on my feet monday. Am awfully weak, but of course won’t get any strength til I get up. Charlie and Mattie came over to see me Thursday evening and they brought me some flowers. I was on pins and needs all the while they were here, for fear Wirt would come. Mattie has her place up for sale and have had quite a few people looking at it. When she sells, she is going to Chicago. I wonder what Charlie is going to do. Your father came to see me again. Its a good thing he comes around closing time, cause he sure tires me out. But he means well. Linda and Johnny and Hazel and Walter just sent me a big bouquet of flowers. I was rather hoping you might have come home from Lorain, but if it was at nite, it wouldn’t have been so good. I don’t have very much to write about, but thought maybe you might feel better if you heard from me. It tire me out quite a bit to write but I take it slow. Darling, I dream of you every nite, and all I want is to get well, so that when you get home, we can go to bed and you’ll will hold me so tight and love me and kiss me. When you came to see me the other day, it seemed like a bit of heaven. I really didn’t think you cared so much about me and it made me feel so good. I spent 42.20 of that $70 you gave me and when I get home will pay your insurance and garage. So darling don’t worry about a thin, and will try and write again in a few days, you take good care of yourself so that when you get home, you can stand all the loving I’m going to give you. Just thinking of your strong body and arms give me a thrill. But in the meantime we’ll have to make the best of it. But I still pray for you morning and nite. I love you, love you, love you and all will me precious, your loving wife Ethel | |
