Oct 14, 1936 Cleveland O. Dearest Hubby: I guess you didn’t get my letter yet telling you I’ve to go to the hospital. Please you will write and let me if I should wait till you get home. There is no rush, but of course the sooner its done the better. But I figured if you were home you could take of me nites when I get home from the hospital and mother will wait of me days. How is my sweetie. Well, - I hope and not visiting any cat houses. Well, sweetie it looks like Charlie is in for trouble. He got a letter from Wirt’s attorney demanding payment. And if Charlie asks you to lend him the money, you have a good excuse to refuse him by telling him we need our money for other things. And remember this tell Charlie nothing. And above all don’t worry. You remember the shoemaker where we have our shoes fixed? Well he died suddenly, I guess, on Saturday. I see by the Marine News you have gone to Indiana Harbor and that you are having storms on Lake Superior like the ones back in 1929. Please honey you are taking good care of yourself aren’t you? I don’t know what’s the matter with this family, but we all dream about you nearly every nite. Dad drained the water out of your car the other day as the paper said it was going to go near freezing but it turned out warm instead. The landlord was here tonite and the paper hanger is coming tomorrow to start preparing. Street car fare is going to stay the same till April 1st, I bought a pass this week as I had to work Sunday and that is the first since May, 1935. Darling I sure enjoyed that candy you sent me. I guess maybe you do think of me once in a while. Mother has got a lose tooth and she says when you get home you can pull it. Isn’t that something to look forward to? Well, sweetie I’m just about out of news. Oh yes Voltz’s have rented a swell big house and have all new furniture and still owe Wirt $65.00. Well I guess I’ll go to bed now. Am all in and those new girls down at the office is enough to make one lose one’s mind. But my mind is sure of one thing and that is I still love you with all my heart and soul, and always will, so don’t let anything happen to you, will you honey. (Darling even after this operation I still be able to have children) Write to me and tell me what Charlie had to say and all about yourself and how much you love me and miss me. Be sure and keep your feet dry. Your loving wife send you Loads and Loads of Love and kisses Ethel | |
