Oct 10 1936 Cleveland O. Dearest darling of mine: How is my sweetie? Feeling fine I hope. Am feeling good considering the circumstance. Please sweetie, think a long time over this question and don’t forget to answer it. Do you want me to wait till you get home before I get operated on or shall I wait till you’re home. There is no hurry, but am in fair condition now, and as long as I’m this way, there can be no strenuous exercise, etc. I would like to go down to Deaconess, so it would be handy for you, and mother and dad. I’ll most probably be there 10 days. Darling it sure seems that you married a fizzle. I could hardly blame you if you wished you were free. But sweetie, I love you so much. Darling, I’m so tired, am working 8 ½ hours a day and all day Sat and Sun. Don't even know if I’m coming or going. Steve Pardon’s house on Marmore Ave was broke into last Sunday evening, and they took all Steve’s underwear and his two watches. They had gathered up all Irene’s silverware but must of got scared and dropped it. Charlie got a letter from Wirt’s attorney demanding payment of the note. He Is afraid he is sueing him. But don’t you lend him the money. I don’t even think we will buy Xmas presents cause we will need the money for other things. Wirt has got the house on Wyandotte rented already. To the purchasing agent of the Cleveland Welding Co. Mother and I went down to see a neighbor that died and was at Busch’s on Pearl Rd. Gee it sure is a swell place inside. Walter and Hazel just came. I suppose that means playing cards, but I don’t mind. It is something to do. And please honey talking about not getting any letters from me, you certainly don’t break an arm writing to me. But anyhow, sweetie I think the world and all of you, and don’t let anyone tell you different. Well I can’t write any more, there is too much talking going and I can’t think. But please write tell me you love me lots and always will. And honey if you want me to wait I will, cause I want to please you sweetie. Lots of love and kisses and please be awfully careful Your loving wife Ethel | |
