Oct 4, 1936 Cleveland O. Dearest darling husband: I love you so honey, and wish with all my heart you were here. Honey, I am postively sick, and makes me disgusted with Wirt every time I think about it. He took his niece and me downtown window shopping and bought us something to eat and drink and coming home he got fresh with me. I felt like screaming but it is imperative that we don’t fight with him now but I’m thru being nice to him. Darling you are the only man I love or will ever care for, and it makes me sick to see a 60 year old man trying to be 25. I always play square with you, and simply had to write and tell you and now it makes me feel better. And honey, you know there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you. Darling can’t you possibly get off for one trip? I really wish you would. I’m going to the doctor’s tomorrow evening and will write and give you the verdict. My side is just getting a little more than I can stand. But please don’t worry, honey. Dad got a raise last week. He get $2.20 more a week I think. Darling now don’t get mad, but when you get home I’m going to prove to you that Charlie isn’t God Almighty. I want you to listen to me once in awhile. Wirt got a check – a dividend check of $25.00 from Midland Steel and It has bee up to 47 and 49. He had company today from Zanesville. A cousin of mine, (you never met him) and his boy friend were here. And do you remember Flowers, the jewelry people that gave us a set of dishes for a wedding gift, well they were here this evening and have just left. You remember that table you used to have up in the attic that you used to measure sausage on, well we have it in the dining room now with a lamp on it. It looks real nice. I believe I’m getting a little fatter now. Am weighing about 120 ½. Have you gained any or have you lost. You know sweetie you don’t haven’t got a big stomach because you eat a lot, it is developed muscles from lifting heavy things. Don’t worry about it, I love every bit of you. You believe me don’t you? Darling I was looking at overcoats, and think that a nice dark blue is what you should have. It would make you look slim and tall. And besides would go good with both of your suits. Well my dearest, am going to close now and hit the hay. Most probably will write again tomorrow if the doctor tells me anything worth while to write. But, honey how I wish you were here to go with me, and you don’t know how much I miss you, I still pray for you nite and day, so you see I want you to come home to me safe and sound and full of love for me. And please try to get off for a trip if it is at all possible. And alone all don’t let on to Wirt that I tell you anything and tell Charlie nothing and same goes for your father. All I ask is that you believe in me and trust your loving wife with Loads of Love and Kisses | |
