Darling Son-
Darn you, we haven't had a word from you this week - dont do that to me, Pal! Any thing in your writing - just a card saying you caught a fish, or any thing else. Remember you are far away and we can't phone or telegraph you.
Received an invitation to Bill's graduation tomorrow Dec 13th at Kelly Field. Marsh Sherer (Wood County Republican) showed me a picture of Old Bill in his flying suit, grinning like a chessa cat, which is an Army release for Monday in all the papers.
I just know Bill is so darned proud of his achievement in getting his "Wings", dont you? He loves his flying so much, I sure am glad he got them OK., But then we [underlined x2] knew he would didn't we, Dick? The commandant of Kelly Field is a West Pointie [unsure sp] and he has promised to send Bill and another West Pointie [unsure sp] on a cross country fligh to Georgia (where the other Boy lives) and to Ohio - so Bill thinks he may drop in on us in the next two or three weeks. I hope he does - Gosh, I get so homesick for him. I'd like to wake up some morning and find him in that south bed in our [underlined] room, how I would [unsure leg] on him and give him the "works" for you + me.
Got a letter from "your wife" today. She had had to remnants of those old tonsils taken out. I gave her thunder when she was here about getting them out and she promised she would see to it. It should have been done long ago - now she shouldn't have the sore throat every "whip stitch".
The high school beat Ada last night 48-47 in a thriller. The College plays Ashland tonight. We will go to the game then down to Bill Donaheys for a birthday party given for Marjorie Bowman.
I got a long letter from Coach Boles yesterday explaining why they were cancelling the game with B.G.U., also a copy of the letter he sent Harold Anderson. Watch the Sentinel for Doc [unsure sp] Lake to write an article about it. Boles lists two reasons - one, the long haul up here and the gas Rationing. Second, the fact that BGU withdrew from The Ohio Conference etc - and he (Boles) subtlely suggested that BGU should be playing Toledo Univ. I am sorry in a way, cause mom + I looked forward to keeping the Wooster Boys all night when they came up here in February.
Bee (Hole) wrote for your address and Sallys. I sent them to her.
The Nov 28th snow is still with us, so you may know how cold it has been around here. Takes lots of coal too. Dont forget to let me know when you get that package of Vitamins + quinine.

Bill wrote that he had had a letter from you and that from your letter he gathered you were eating regular and sleeping good. A Heck of a lot of information if you ask me.
Say, Son, that letter you wrote mom about your boat trip and why you weren't a moron etc., was a mater piece. I find mom rereading it now and then. It came while Sally was here and I guess they each enjoyed a good cry when mom first read it.
The Good Lord sure blessed us with two of the finest gentlemen in the world as sons.
All I pray is that you both come out of this affair, not hardened, and still gentlemen with high ideals. The world surely will need the type of fellow you and Bill are - so be true to yourself always, old pal o mine. Dont forget to write a note, at least, to Dr Prout, congratulating him on the B.B. team and the fact that he has Harold Anderson for coach. I [underlined] know [underlined] how he will appreciate getting it from you and he will probably show it to "Andy" the Coach. All of which wont hurt you at all. You never can tell when you might want something out there. Maintain all your "contacts" back here - it is good thing to do. Will get going now and get this in the mail. Remember your prayers and write to us often as you can. Best of luck to you and get in there and pitch. I sure love you
