Thurs. a.m. Dear Papa – All: Am so stirred that I can scarcely think. Begin to save your pennies now, for you all may have to come to my commencement this year, for I may where the cap and gown in June. The registrar told me yesterday that by taking a special ex. In history, I would get 5 extra credits, and Ted Crouse has just received 15 credits for C.T.S work to which I also am entitled. Inquiry this a.m. Makes it almost certain that I can get some credit for the work that year in the normal training class. If I can thus get 25 credits altogether, I can by taking some extra work next semester, graduate in June. The possibility seems too good to be true. It would be mean hard work, but I could safely borrow enough money to carry me through without being bothered about the finance question. Have written Prof. Davison to seend my credits at once. Also asked him if he will have any vacancies in L.N.S. Next year. If I fail to make all my credits this next semester, at least I can make it up in summer work, and will be able to teach somewhere next year. Do not say much about this until I learn for certain just what can be done. Arrived here safe and on time. I'm hardly settled down to the grind that. And sleepy this noon. Went to a “spread” last night when I should have gone to bed. Love to all from your excited Grace. If Prof. D. isn’t the Supt. Any longer, please let me know at once. Mr. J.K. McClurg 602 S.
