December 6, 1924 Fukien Christian University My dear Miss McClurg + Apple – I would like to tell you about the Annual Social Meeting of our University holding on last Saturday December 29th. This meeting was promoted by the Y.M.C.A. and the Student Republic of our University and all the finance support was from the student body. All the schools in Foochow, except the primary school, were invited. Early in Saturday morning two steamers and six directors were sent to Nang-Dai, Foochow to receive the guests. Two o’clock P.M. hearing the guests were coming, all the members of the faculty and Student Republic ran to the landing, in front of our university, to receive them. When the guests have left the steamers the directors guided them to the chapel and then the meeting was (?) among the programs of this meeting the singing of Meong-Sang Girl’s School was most sweet to hear. After the meeting closed all the guests were invited to take tea in the fourth story of the new dormitory, standing on the top of a hill, and then they returned to Foochow when it was dark. Yours most sincerely, Kuo H. Khang |
