Dear Cousin,

Sarah Bell I take my pen in hand to rite you a few lines to let you no that we are all well and hope that this will find you in the same. Louisa and Hannah is aboarding at our hous and agoing to school at the academy.  My mother is on to Cincinati. Cynthia is staying with us. I am agoing to send you some advocates. We was at grandmothers last Sunday and they were all well then eccept grandmothers and she had a verrry bad cold.  There was five boys run a way to the army and I guess that they were glad to run back. To of them went with out anything to ete for three days and one of them had some money of his mothers and would not spend it for anything to ete.  Ma got home and braught me a new overcoat and braught a lot of hats and betts and ribbon and if you will come down she says that she will give you a new hat if you will come down.  We would be so glad to see you.

I got my miniature taken and will send it to you the first chance I get.  I can not think of anything more that will interest you now.  We send our love to all of you.  So god by at present.   Excuse bad wright and spelling.  Be shure to wright sum.
