March 14th 1862 I thought I would rite you a few lines to let you know one that we all are well. I have been going to school and it was out two weeks ago after winter almost gone it is warm and pleasant. How much we have been looking for you and your folks out here but we have near about give up seen you. Price [illegible] was in Ohio last fall. We was at your grandfather Spences april Shawhans. We have heard from your grandfather Shawhans and they were all well but grandfather Shawhan. Well Sarah belle has broken the silence better men you and me. I had much to rite to you for I cannot remember ever seeing you. You must give mi best respects to your little brothers and sisters. I would be glad to see you and your little brothers out since this fall to stay a week as to I had got one letter aunt spense and too from Maggie McClause [illegible] your little cousin I had told you about whoo but as soon as you git those few lines you must excuse me have spelling and writing and am young and little now you must rite soon to me so good by.
