Dear Brother  it has been to long since I heard from you.  I thought I would write you and let you know how we are getting along we are all well with the exceptions of cold, & coughs I have had a very bad cough for sometime I believe the friends are all well.  I hope this reach you & yours all enjoying the same blessing I have most I have not much news to write this time  is to know whether Mr [illegible] fared that money to you yet that he owes me if he has not I want you to try to get it of him in time to pay the Taxes as I have depended on that for two or three years now I think he will surely not disappoint me this year  I have heard that he was to have some money this fall I hope you will succeed in getting it as times is so hard and money scarece I am afraid I cannot get it in time to pay the Tax.  I had a letter from Hopkinsons [illegible] is in the Army in the eleventh Iowa Regiment.  We do not have much news here only about the war the second Ohio Regiment is expected to the city Saturday that is the one all our boys are in.  My love to Mary and the children & all enquiring friends and receive a share for your self.  I hope you will write soon as I am anxious to hear from you all what is your Babys Name when will you come down & bring Mary and the children I want to see you all very much
