Ashtabula Harbor Dec. 27/1913 Dearest Mabel: Received your letter yesterday, was dissapointed [disappointed] not to hear from you Xmas. Was up to the Post Office but no mail. Gee you wrote the letter the 24th but it didn’t leave Cle. [Cleveland] till the 26. Corkey must of forgot to mail it. Thought sure I would hear from you Xmas. So you got a Xmas present from home, and I also. Gee wiz (whiz). So Ed played Santa Claus yes I would of liked to been home. I bet she (Margery) was kind of scart [scared]. Well the Mullen just got here afoul an hour ago, she came from Buffalo. She is going to load storage coal here. Got a postal from Him the Oiler he wants to be remembered. He said we will sure go hunting this winter. Well dear the Chief is going up town so I must hurry and close, so he can mail my letter. Best wishes to all. With love and kisses. Your Sweetheart, Geo.
