Ashtabula Harbor Dec. 9/1913 Dear Mabel: Received your letter this pm and was glad to hear from you, and also that you arrived home safe. Mailed you a letter yesterday P.M. and also one today. Gee you got easy talking (because) all you got to do is to drop it in the mail box, and the mail carrier brings your mail right to you. But I have to run up to the Post Office and that’s a mile one way, and I can’t get a chance to go up town every day. So if I happen to skip a day you just over look it and write anyway. Or I’ll knock your block off, ha ha. did you get that. I got a chew of snuff in my mouth so I’m tough. Gee I bet Ed don’t like that, that he got through so soon, I surely thought he would get the job if anyone did. Well I don’t think I’ll loose (lose) my job, but you never can tell. Miller said today, that it would be the third before he got through. Gee I’m glad aren’t you dear? You said that you would get my Aunt a present. Why I was up town this P.M. and bought her a nice pair of house slippers some dandy ones too. I bought size 5 ½ they aught to (should) fit her, don’t you think so. I sent them parcel post, only cost me 8¢. I suppose you want to know what I paid for them to (too), well I paid $1.25 for them. Well dear I will close for this time hoping to hear from you real soon. With love and kisses. Best to all. Your Hubby, Geo. | |
