Lorain Ohio November 9/1913 Dear Wife: Was going to write yesterday, but did not get a chance. We are still in Lorain, and its certainly blowing a gale and some snow storm also. The engine broke down again, so we are still here, we will be ready to go in about an hour. So I won’t be able to mail this till we get to Detroit. But I don’t know weather (whether) he will go out tonight or not. Gee I hope not. It’s the worst storm down here I ever saw any time. I suppose its the same in Cleveland. Well dear I hope you got home all right. And was Laura (born 1887, wife of George’s brother Ed - born 1884) home or did you have to batch (bachelor) it, ha ha. Gee the wind is just blowing something fierce. I hope he can’t get any Tugs to take him out tonight. But I suppose he’ll try it any way. Gee I’m glad your (you’re) not here. Of course you know what I mean. I certainly miss you so much. I certainly hated to see you go. Oh well dear it won’t be long now if we only have good luck. If you have any mail at Detroit I will send it to you. Did Laura go to Buffalo, or didn’t she get this trip. And how is little Margery (Laura and Ed’s daughter, born in 1911). I hope we don’t get out tonight then mabe (maybe) I’ll get a chance to mail this in the morning. Bones (George Bouzas, his 2 postcards to Mabel are enclosed) and Snudu send their best. Well I’m going down (to) the engine room and see how they are getting along with the Engine. 4 Well dear I hope you are well, and got home safe. Will close with Love and kisses. Best to Laura and Margery. Your Hubby, Geo. P.S.: Forgot to send your hat so will send it when we get back. | |
