May 19, 1970 Dear Dr. Jerome: In all the recent turmoil (and I'm sure that any individual faculty member hardly knows a fraction of the real anguish that the situations caused) I feel that you and the administration have acted in an admirable manner. In the current situation throughout the country, I think administrators are in a terribly touchy situation because they are caught between two massive power blocks; I think you and other members of the administration have acted with exemplary calm, moderation, and understanding, and that the University community owes you a debt of gratitude, along with our students. Sincerely, F. Baldanza Frank Baldanza |
