May 14, 1970 Dear Sir: Due to the increasing violence and destruction on our college campuses and throughout our nation, I, a member of the silent majority and the undersigned, feel it is my duty to publicly invoke the enforcement of the law on our campuses and throughout America. Furthermore, I believe the following premises to be true: 1) Our governor acted wisely by sending the National Guard to our universities - all citizens whether college students or private citizens deserve protection. 2) The news media has given slanted coverage to the above mentioned issue and it has become distorted somewhat. This situation must be changed. 3) Peaceful dissent under a democratic government is a right and a privilege. I wish to express my wholehearted support of our State and National officials and whatever means they deem necessary to enforce the law on the campuses and throughout America. Sincerely, CITIZENS FOR ACTION Citizens For Action Committee 116 Sandusky Street Plymouth, OH. |
