Description | Video oral history interview with Bob Walter and Ed Russell about their experiences serving in the U.S. Army in the European theater during World War II. Walter shares his stories of basic training, combat in the Battle of the Bulge, and being discharged from the Army. Russell describes serving in General George Patton's 3rd Armed Division operating an M4 Sherman tank, and engaging in combat in the Battle of the Bulge, on the Siegfried Line, and in Czechoslovakia. Recorded in the fall of 2002 for Dr. Walter Grunden's World War II history course in the Department of History at Bowling Green State University. Interview conducted by Trevor Heller.
