625 Hillcrest Drive
In 1963, the university purchased the first presidential residence to be located off of campus, 625 Hillcrest Drive. Located approximately two miles from the center of campus, the residence housed Presidents Jerome, Moore, Olscamp, and Ribeau from 1963 – 2005. In the early 2000s, it became apparent that the home did not fit the changing duties of a university president. The home was not fit for entertaining and could no longer properly serve the university. Remodeling of the structure was considered to be cost prohibitive, and it was sold to a private third party in 2005.
