Description | In the late 1950s, the University's Board of Trustees approved plans for the construction of a series of buildings to make up a "science complex" that would serve as a center for the various science departments on-campus. Unfortunately, a lack of funding prevented construction of the Physical Science Laboratory until the early 1980s. With the Planetarium's construction in 1984, the "science complex" was finally completed, well after originally intended. The building has been used primarily by the Chemistry Department, however it also serves as an aid for industrial research in Physics and Astronomy. Moreover, the building serves the larger Bowling Green community by sponsoring and holding special programs for observing the universe and educating the public in the world of science.
