1960s, Part 1
The 1960s saw the continued growth of the BGSU campus. Academic programs were strengthened through the addition of a science building complex on the west end of the campus, and buildings for the College of Education and Jerome Library. Student services were increased with the Student Health Center and Saddlemire Student Center. Athletics saw the addition of Memorial Hall, the Ice Arena and Perry Stadium.
Meanwhile, the City of Bowling Green grew along with the University. Apartment and single-family homes sprouted up near the campus. Interstate Highway I-75 brought students easily to campus from all over the state and the nation.
