George Kryder papers
This digital collection features reproductions of two diaries from the George Kryder papers (MS-0163), which document Kryder's experience serving on military duty with the Third Ohio Volunteer Cavalry (3rd O.V.C.) in their many campaigns in the South during the American Civil War (1861-1865). Transcriptions of the diaries are also included.

In addition to Kryder's diaries, the George Kryder papers also contain over one hundred letters written by Kryder dating from January 18, 1862 to December 2, 1865. Please note that the CAC maintains only photocopies of these letters in its collection of Kryder papers; the original copies are maintained by Northwest State Community College. NSCC has also digitized many of the original letters and made them available online via their website.
