This digital collection features letters from the Louisa Cook Walters correspondence (MMS-1289) which dates from 1862-1865 and documents Cook Walters's overland journey from her home in Huron County, Ohio to Placerville, Idaho on the Oregon Trail. The letters are written to Cook Walters's family members in Ohio and describe both her journey on the Oregon Trail as well as life in Placerville.
