Ashtabula Harbor Ohio Dec. 25/1913 Dear Mabel: Well, I received your letter yesterday and was glad to hear from you. This is Xmas and just got through with supper. Gee this was an awfull [awful] Xmas for me was aboard the boat all day. Certainly dead it don’t look no more like Xmas time then the 4th of July. Certainly would like to been home with you. I’m anxious to hear weather [whether] you got that Grip I sent you. Gee, you ought to have it by this time. Certainly storming some here today, its raining and blowing something awfull [awful]. Received the Whiskey all right, you can tell Ed, and tell him I thank him. Tell him Mr. Miller is much better now. Put some of the Whiskey in my Plumb Pudding certainly was great. Had a dandy dinner. They all came in at once. I served the dinner home style you know like we served the passengers. We ate right along with them. Well dear it won’t be long now. I’m pretty sure I’ll be home for New Years. Did not hear from Minnie yet but expect to soon. I hope they spent a good Xmas at Loyal. Well I hope I hear from you tomorrow and also hope you received that Grip by this time. I suppose little Margery was tickeled [tickled] over her presents. Say will I have to bring her a little something tell me what to do and what to get her. That is if you want me to get her anything. Well dear I will close for this time hoping to hear from you soon. Best to all. With love and kisses. Your Hubby, Geo. | |
