Just a few lines to let you know that we arrived here O.K.
I suppose you people heard the bad news of the Storm. But don’t worry for I’m safe, and Ed is to (too).
The John McGean went down on Lake Huron with all hands. The total is over 200 now and the full reports aren’t in yet. It mabe (maybe) a couple of days yet before we will know of all the boats that were lost.
Gee the Captain was anxious to get out of Lorain Saturday night, but thank God the Engine broke again and so that held us over the worst of the Storm. We got a little shaken up but it wasn’t so bad.
Well dear we are still alive and hope we have good luck the rest of the season. Well there are a lot of boats here so I suppose we’ll be here for a few days. How’s Lalla (Laura; Margery’s attempt to say her mother’s name?) and Margery. Give them my best.
Well dear I am writing this in a hurry so I can mail it.
So you won’t be uneasy. With love and kisses from your loving hubby.
P.S.: Will write again in a couple of days.
